These joyful plants are standing up to old man winter

Happy Earth Day!

I just finished watching “The year Earth changed”. Wow! I knew the impact on Earth by humans was significant and I remember hearing about the positive changes while the world was in lockdown. But to actually see it, see how we’re destroying this planet, the air, the water, the habitats of so many animals. Wow! And to see how well they’re doing without us. Wow!

Now, I’m trying to figure out what role I can play in ensuring those positive changes continue, once we’re out of lockdown.

On the ‘return to winter’ front, happy news is the forecast is calling for more seasonal temperatures tomorrow and through the weekend. A balmy high of 14°C! After last night’s -8, I’ll take it!

It’s been windy and cold all day. I woke up to a snow-covered lawn. Happy to say once the sun appeared later in the afternoon, it all melted away, providing much needed moisture for the soil. More daffodils started blooming under the protective tote. Those joyful flowers sure are hardy! Once the temperatures get a little higher tomorrow I will remove the tote, and have a look inside my little greenhouse. Can’t wait to see how the seedlings faired.
