365…349

Feeling a little better today…at least light hearted and joyful… physically…still a work in progress.

It snowed over night. Waking up to a winter wonderland, especially a surprised one, is incredible! After feeding the cats, I hurried out to feed the birds. Some of the feeders had ice build up after the quick freeze yesterday (it went from plus 10 to minus something fairly quickly).

With all the feeders, I’m heading up the back stairs when I hear a familiar sound. A sound I have been longing and hoping to hear again soon…the golden finch. Five flew into the yard at just that moment. I have been waiting for them to return. Other feeder watch participants have had them for weeks now. I was so thrilled to see them!

The five perched on the silo feeders while I stood on the veranda, three feet or so away. I welcomed them home, told them how happy I was to see them again. We stayed like this for several minutes, then went on our ways.

Again, painting was the last thing I wanted to do tonight, but I pushed through and got it done. I’m too close to the end of the this project to miss a day now!
