What I remembered today, during my morning walk, was this:
When looking for signs, one does not walk along chanting, “I’m ready, show me the signs…where are the signs…”
Instead, what one does is clear their mind, be present in the moment by listening to the sounds, look at the sights, be aware of their feelings, intuitive thoughts, nudges and so on. All while keeping an open mind, free of cluttering thoughts and worries.
It’s seeing a robin on the lawn, pulling at a worm, dropping the worm, getting it again, dropping it, but getting it again. It’s sharing a greeting with a stranger, seeing numbers on hydro poles…
I made it to the bottom of the gully today and took a quick moment to enjoy the creek. I haven’t been down here in years! When my longtime neighbour owned the land, I would explore this spot, sit and enjoy the creek and the quiet.
Signs: Robin fetching a worm, dropping it and getting it again.
Meaning: two things:
early bird gets the worm…getting up early is good for the soul, you get so much accomplished before most people are even up!
Persistence pays off. Don’t give up so easily. Keep trying, keep working at it and it will work out.
The last day of May was a cool one. It was 8°C during my morning walk. A bit of a breeze made it feel much cooler… a windchill on the last day of May. Huh. Sometimes I wonder what Mother Nature is up to… menopause perhaps?
During my walk, I decided I would dedicate June – the month, not my mother – to actively looking for signs from the Universe. Signs are everywhere and ever present. If you don’t see a sign it’s because you’re not present, not open and not looking for them.
I get so wrapped up in all that is going on around me, stuck in my head, worrying about nothing, being preoccupied with nothing that truly matters, that I forget I’m not alone in this crazy game of life. I have an amazing support system guiding me and cheering me on every second of every moment of every day of my entire life’s journey. If I don’t hear them or see them, that’s on me. It’s because I’m in my head, focusing on the stuff that doesn’t matter, instead of being aware, being present, being open.
So my exercise for June…the month of June…is to be aware of what is going on around me. Of being aware of my thoughts and how quickly they manifest into something tangible.
So, I’m walking along and I notice the number eight (8) painted on a hydro pole. I’ve walked by this pole for three weeks now and this is the first time I’ve noticed it. Talk about being present in the moment and being aware of what’s going on around you. By the way, 8 in angel numerology is Abundance.
Back to my walk this morning. I asked myself: “What do you want.” My answer: “To be happy; to be open to love, all kinds of love, but mostly romantic love.”
Whenever I make a conscious effort to be aware of the Universal life force, it shows me hearts…everywhere. I pour olive oil into a frying pan, it settles in the shape of a heart. I look up into the sky and see heart-shaped clouds. Leaves fall at my feet, in the shape of a heart… For about a week now, hearts have been showing up. The Universe was reminding me it’s still there and wants me to reconnect. So…I’m reconnecting and am looking forward to all of the signs coming my way.
Back to my daily walk, each morning I walk a little further than the day before. Today, I made it half way down the gully, to the 1 km mark. Return trip is 2 km…Today I walked 2 km!!! I’m getting there, slowly by surely.
I got up early, fed the cats then crawled back into bed and read a book for a couple of hours. It was pure bliss!
The rest of the day was pretty quiet. I worked on my travel magazine for my Italy/Mediterranean cruise from 2018. Got day 4 done. At this rate it might be another year before I get it completed and printed. It takes alot of hours to put it together. I’m trying to make every day of the trip into its own article with a different look and layout. So it takes time but it’s so worth it in the end. I created one of my trip to Ireland in 2016. It’s a great keepsake and something I refer to often.
While working on the magazine my water glass caught my eye, something about the lemon looked cool, then I noticed a piece of lemon floating in the glass looks like a bird or angel. This is a special glass my angel sister had made for a group of us who attended angel camp together. It has positive, uplifting words etched around the glass that inturn infuses the water with positive energy.
I took a break to watch the SpaceX launch this afternoon. Wasn’t it inspiring!
It was a coolish, rainy day followed by this cold front. We’re looking at 4°C overnight! Yikes!
Have you ever had one of those moments when you looked to the side and something amazing caught your eye? So much so your jaw drops and a surprised gasp gushes out of your opened mouth?
I had one of those spectacular moments this evening, while watching a movie on TV. I turned to look outside and was stunned. The sky was dark, a very dark blue, ominous dark clouds. You get the picture. I gasped, hit pause on the remote, grabbed my phone, shouted out apologies to my Mom as I ran out the door to take pictures. The clouds were incredible, and the lilacs against the blue sky, well the artist in me was in Heaven!
The only thing that could top off the storm clouds for picture of the day is this little guy:
