The mid-winter Covid blues have struck. Normally at this time of year, I’m feeling the need for a change of scenery. I take advantage of the offers from local hotels for the quiet time between New year’s and winter festivals. They have special rates for residents, making a stay at the pricier hotels more affordable.
Last year I spent a night at the Chateau Frontenac in old Quebec.
The year prior, I stayed at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. Both times I spent the evening outside enjoying night photography.

This year, I’m thinking of staying in my garage and taking night shots of the “friendly” beaver… A staycation covid-style.
