There’s just something about a cat sleeping in the sun

A beautiful day for a snowshoe. The snow is melting fast but there’s still quite a bit to play on.

A beautiful sunny morning!

We got above zero today!

Tuesday, 23 February 2021

A mild snowy day today kept the bird feeders busy. Kept me occupied too shovelling snow.

It’s 8:50 pm as I type this on my phone. It’s usually quiet, no traffic except for the odd car, because of curfew. The cars zipping past my house right now is…well there are a lot. Which surprised me until I remembered that curfew has been extended to 9:30 pm starting tonight. Amazing how quickly I adapted to the peace and quiet. I hope I adapt quickly to the noise again.

Sunlight dancing in nature

Sunday, 17 January 2021

Happy birthday Connor 🎈🎉

Twenty five years ago today I was over the moon excited because I became an aunt to the most beautiful sweet baby boy!

Today was one of those days that artists live for. Sunlight dancing in nature, on the river, brightening a patch of snow or highlighting a treeline in the distance. Awestruck moments that lend to reaching for a camera or paint brush.

For me it was the camera. I tried to capture the light as I saw it. A pink hue light cast on the snow and the river, it took my breath away.

I went for my first snowshoe of the year. Muscles I had long forgotten about are making themselves known tonight!

A few more moments from the day

Mom added eyes and a nose to my snowman

Oh happy day!

My wish came true!

Metal ruler immersed in snow to the 7.25 inch marker
A little over 7 inches of snow at 11 AM.

I spent the first part of my morning enjoying the snowfall and the birds before joining them.

There’s nothing quite like fresh air and snow, lots of wet snow. Great for snow angels and snowmen.

Snow angels were slightly easier to do when I was ten…just saying.

And building a ☃️. I forgot how heavy snow can be, as I lifted a humongous boulder of snow, resting it on the base. He’s as tall as I am! I added wooden arms, which will hold seed for the birds. Face to come tomorrow!

Then it was time to shovel. My Fitbit buzzed every so often. At the time, I had no idea what it was doing. Later I learned it was congratulating me for reaching goals like fat burning and cardio. There was a lot of snow to shovel!
