Happy birthday to my beloved Pops!
I went for a walk right after work. The sun was beginning to set, the wind brisk and cold, biting my cheeks, the air damp, soaking through my winter clothes to settle in my bones.
From the first blast of cold air stinging my cheeks, I was ready to turn back. But I didn’t. I knew I needed a break from the chaos happening to my southern neighbours, a break from screens.
I’m glad I continued otherwise I would have missed a lovely Sundog.
And I would have missed hearing the river lap against the ice. Not quiet the ocean but beautiful nonetheless.

Some interesting skies today. I stepped out this morning to fill the bird feeders and was captivated by the sky and sun.
An hour or so later, I noticed what looked like a rainbow 🌈 shining on the river. I stepped out to get a better look and saw a Sundog which was reflecting on the river.
