All day I thought it was Wednesday. Even as the IGA delivery van pulled into my lane, I scratched my head wondering how he got the days mixed up. My delivery is coming Thursday, not Wednesday!
I’m relieved I didn’t question him on it! 😂 And I’m really happy to learn tomorrow is Friday. Boy, what a week it’s been. I’m thinking our outing to Magic Lights is the culprit as we usually reserve those for weekends.
I just had a happy moment as I was writing this…we gain an hour of sleep tonight!
My morning started with a glance outside my bedroom window. Frost faeries covered the bottom of the window but it was the setting moon that stole the show. The blue moon.
I sipped my tea while watching the birds at the feeder. A male Cardinal popped in then quickly flew off when he saw my camera. I watched him land in a nearby tree and watch me.
I may have used some strong language about how “shy” he was. He flew back and posed for me. This was the longest a cardinal has stayed around to get a few shots.
I woke up to snow on the ground this morning and it felt like Christmas. I baked a batch of Ginger Spice cookies and listened to a beautiful Christmas piano playlist on Spotify.
During these crazy pandemic times, it’s important to find joy in the little things, even if it’s still October and too early – in some people’s opinions – for Christmas 🎄 music. For the record, I believe it’s never too early to play Christmas music 🎶
I finally managed to get a good shot of the white-breasted nuthatch.
Oh my, what a sight to wake up to. I wasn’t prepared for a white, winter wonderland in late April. When I heard snow was in the forecast, I figured it would be the wet stuff that looks pretty but doesn’t accumulate. Ha.
Tea in hand, rocking chair pulled up to the patio window, camera in other hand, I made the best of it. Birds flock to the feeders during snow storms, especially spring snowstorms. I was in a very happy place watching the birds, taking pictures and enjoying the morning. It felt like Christmas morning, quiet, peaceful, snowy…
