It was a day filled with weather. We popped into town to pickup groceries and while waiting at Walmart, I stepped out of the car and it felt like I was in Florida – weather wise, that is. Florida in January or February. I loved it! There was a gentle breeze, the sun was warm but not hot. A perfect 23°C!
In the afternoon, the rains came down like a bucket of water being dumped. It was fabulous!
Tonight, long after the sun set, I stepped onto the veranda to soak up the beautiful summer night. The waxing crescent moon getting brighter each night was high in the sky with a star/planet at its’ side. Fireflies danced around the yard while the bullfrogs serenaded them. The softest, gentlest, warm breeze comforted me and the entire scene brought me happiness and comfort. Oh, how I love these summer nights!
Photos from around the yard today, including the “teenage” geese!
Today is a strange day, and not just weather wise. I’d need another page just to chat about that. Seriously though. I’ve been seeing videos of fighting, a woman verbally attacking another woman just because she’s not white. In fact, that same woman was in another video being nasty to a black man.
The comments on Twitter are normally pretty disgusting, but lately… especially today…what’s going on?!?
A blue-checked person on Twitter was calling other people out on their beliefs and behaviour…by calling them names and making fun of them.
Then my cats are fighting, the baby geese are at it.
Enough already. Seriously. Enough.
I’m tired of all the hatred. It’s been amplifying steadily all week. And now I see it in my happy place.
It’s time for love. Only love. You can’t fight hate with hate. No you can’t. Only love can vanquish hate. Only light can eradicate dark. Love is light. Light is love.
I will look for love. I will search out the light. I will amplify the light and love. I will be a beacon of light.
There is more light and love in this world than there is darkness and hate.
There are more good people than not. I will look for the good.
It’s finally Friday! After thinking every day this week was Friday, it’s actually Friday.
And what a day it was. Work kept me busy all day, but once I clocked out it was time to make cupcakes and a salmon dinner for mom’s birthday.
The skies got dark around us and I could hear thunder rolling. Looked and sounded like it was storming in Orleans. I went ahead and watered the garden and our transplanted trees. Good thing I was out and about because I caught the geese and goslings in my garden… actually walking in it! It didn’t look like they are anything but building a fence is on my to-do list tomorrow!
Have you ever had one of those moments when you looked to the side and something amazing caught your eye? So much so your jaw drops and a surprised gasp gushes out of your opened mouth?
I had one of those spectacular moments this evening, while watching a movie on TV. I turned to look outside and was stunned. The sky was dark, a very dark blue, ominous dark clouds. You get the picture. I gasped, hit pause on the remote, grabbed my phone, shouted out apologies to my Mom as I ran out the door to take pictures. The clouds were incredible, and the lilacs against the blue sky, well the artist in me was in Heaven!
The only thing that could top off the storm clouds for picture of the day is this little guy:
