Today felt like Friday all day… Not sure what tomorrow is going to be like!
It was a busy day getting infographics completed and I’ve volunteered to be a tester of a new portal opening up soon, so that’s cool. Also managed to get some gardening done.
Our guy…we have a guy…who has been working around our yard. He dropped off clean fill last month when we had a sign up on the lawn looking for clean fill. He then offered his services to spread the fill and, since then, we’ve kept him busy. Today he dropped off four yards of garden soil. Now I can fill up some garden boxes and containers. Really stoked!!!
We popped into Ottawa to visit my nephews who moved into their first apartment this week. It’s a beautiful place and I’m excited for them, proud of the young men they’ve become and a little nostalgic for the little boys they were.
Then we popped over to see my sister-in-law’s new apartment. It’s stunningly beautiful and such a contrast to the boys modern apartment. Her’s is circa 1920s…has the feel of an old church. Gorgeous wood burning fireplace with a stone mantel. She’s moving in on the weekend so no furniture yet.
Tomorrow is Mom’s birthday so she wanted to see most of her babies tonight!
I didn’t have my camera and tried to capture the near full moon and tonight’s sunset…with my phone…not great but it’s something.
I fed the cats when I got home…left the kitchen to get ready for bed…you know, brushing my teeth and so on. I noticed Ashes wasn’t in the kitchen and she still had food. Kinda strange. I walked into my room, noticed the closet door open and there she was, sitting in my laundry basket…silly girl.
I can’t believe a year has gone by already. Seems like just yesterday I was sitting in my living room pondering what to do with my year. That’s when I came up with the #365CreativityProject… A painting and photo a day. Plus writing every day which is where this blog comes in.
Every day, for a year, without missing a day, I painted a painting and took a photo. I didn’t paint all weekend and stockpile them for the week. No, I painted one every day. Even when I wasn’t in the mood, especially when I wasn’t in the mood! I’ve sold several, given some away and made some into greeting cards which I gifted. It’s been quite the journey.
I thank you for following along on this journey, for your kind words, encouragement and likes.
I’ll follow up later with a 365 in review. Until then, have a wonderful new year!!!
One more day to go…one more painting, one more photo. Wow!
Today was a freezing drizzle all day, with bblustery winds kind of day. I felt so bad for the turkeys, their feathers were covered in ice. I had to clear the ice from the feeders a couple of times. There weren’t many birds at the feeders but enough to keep it open!
My google assistant found some beautiful quiet piano Christmas music for me to listen to while I worked. At one point, I looked up and saw the album cover of the song playing. It was a winter night scene that was so beautiful! It inspired tonight’s painting.
It was an overcast, damp day. Definitely could feel a storm on the way.
I filled up th bird feeders first thing this morning – today is bird count day and with a storm on the way, it was bound to get busy at the feeders.
Funny enough, I didn’t stick around long enough to see them. Mom was bored – something that doesn’t often happen – so I asked if she wanted to go into town with me to pick up some bird seed. She said yes, which led to a day in Gatineau visiting many stores, shopping and browsing. Plus brunch at Cora’s.
I finally made it to breakfast/brunch at Cora’s. People have been trying to get me there for years. Now, the food was ok, nothing special. The fruit was delicious. The service was awful. Don’t believe I’ll go back.
Now, today’s painting and photo. Both were done late tonight.
The photo is of our Gerbera daisy. This plant amazes me and is so beautiful!
The painting is inspired by last night’s setting moon and Venus.
