First day of Spring was pretty awesome

Saturday, 20 March 2021

The forecasted high was 11°C. I don’t know what it got up to but it was fantastic. Full sun, blue sky, not a cloud in sight.

My youngest niece, the baby in our family, turns sixteen tomorrow. She is an incredible, beautiful, thoughtful, insightful, wise beyond her years young lady and I had the privilege of sharing the day with her.

I wanted to buy her something extra special for her sixteenth so we went to two of my go-to stores on Main St in Ottawa. Three Trees and Singing Pebbles. We found some treasures, met some beautiful people, experienced shopping COVID-style, and had a pretty great day.

It felt good getting out of the house and to step into stores like that, that have great positive and light energy; a break from the pandemic, even if for only a short while.

On my way home I stopped at a restaurant to pickup dinner. I placed the order online and was going to do curbside pickup but the last time I was there it didn’t work. So today I thought, why not go in. I was stunned to see people sitting at tables and booths, eating and laughing. I felt like I was living in two realities and not sure which one is real. The pandemic lockdown and this one where people were normal. It looked like old times. It was surreal.

When this is all over and we go back to some semblance of normal, it’s going to be weird.

Now I begin self isolating, just in case.
