I’m glad I continued on my walk, despite the cold biting my cheeks

Happy birthday to my beloved Pops!

I went for a walk right after work. The sun was beginning to set, the wind brisk and cold, biting my cheeks, the air damp, soaking through my winter clothes to settle in my bones.

From the first blast of cold air stinging my cheeks, I was ready to turn back. But I didn’t. I knew I needed a break from the chaos happening to my southern neighbours, a break from screens.

I’m glad I continued otherwise I would have missed a lovely Sundog.

Sundog. It had all the colours of the rainbow but for some reason the camera didn’t capture them. ©WQuinn 2021

And I would have missed hearing the river lap against the ice. Not quiet the ocean but beautiful nonetheless.
