Celebrating Christmas the pandemic way.

Friday, 🎄25 December 2020 🎄

When life throws you a curve ball…make sure to sit up, take notice, and make something of it.

Like this pandemic and being physically distanced from our loved ones during Christmas. I took a step back to evaluate the situation and sure, it sucks, it’s different, which makes me uncomfortable… being out of my comfort zone is a good thing. But my family is healthy, we are still employed, and still have roofs over our heads.

So we made the best out of the situation we found ourselves in by connecting virtually, like I’m sure millions of others did this day.

We also started a new tradition of purchasing gift cards to local businesses. The cards were added to a wreath with numbers attached to them. When our name was called out, we could pick a number or “steal” a card from someone else. It was fun and good for a few laughs. But mostly it was good to see and “be” with everyone.

Mom and I spent the day in our “lounge wear” watching movies. First was a visit to Co Mayo Ireland where I remembered how much I love Ireland and need to go back! (Wild Mountain Thyme) Then we were off to Lafayette, Louisiana enjoying Christmas lights, festivities, and romance. (The Christmas Contract)
We ended our Christmas journey in Disneyland – reawakening my desire to spend a week at Animal Kingdom someday – to hang with the fairies and remember to believe in the magic of life. (Godmothered)

It is what it is, it will be what it will be, we will adjust our sails and make the most with what we have…oh, and Bailey’s, it helps too! 😉☘️

Christmas tree lit up beside a tv with a screen saver showing two photos of Bailey's Irish Cream and a wine glass with the ocean in the background. I took this on the balcony of my last cruise.
A reminder of a happy time on my last cruise, Bailey’s on the veranda.
