Quiet time after a busy week

Saturday, 19 December 2020

Most Saturday’s I’m running around like a busy bee, baking, cooking, cleaning, doing something. Not today.

Today I woke up when I woke up, and it was later than ususal. I was in tired mode after a busy, stressful week and I took the time I needed to recoup. By late afternoon, I was back to feeling like myself. I pulled out the wrapping paper and got to work wrapping presents!

After wrapping, it was time for our nightly movie. Every night this month we have been watching a Christmas movie. Tonight I took a break from the Christmas theme and put Casablanca on instead. Casablanca is one of my all-time favourites, which Mom hadn’t seen in its entirety…until tonight. Such a great movie! (Last night we watched White Christmas – another awesome movie that is on my all-time favourite’s list.)

So tomorrow my plan is to get baking. Our new stove arrived this week and I’m really excited to try it out. There’s a bit of a learning curve, as it’s convection and it has wifi capabilities – you’ve got to be kidding me! Nonetheless, the fact I can turn the heat to my desired temperature and it’s going to work…no more fiddling around, guessing what the temperature is, oh what fun! I just might go for a walk while the cookies are baking so I can “monitor” them and turn the oven off from outside…just cause I can 😉 (I feel so spoiled!)

So, because it was a quiet day, I only have two pictures: one of the yard this morning and one of Ashes sitting on my lap watching a timelapse painting video this evening.

Until tomorrow!
