I’m usually a morning owl but lately I have taken to sleeping in. This morning was no different, snuggled under the covers until I happened to look out the window and see a portion of the field bathed in sunlight.
The view was striking what with blue-grey clouds moving in as a backdrop to the sunlight warm bean stocks. I jumped out of bed, hurried down the hall to the closest window to capture the colours before the sun disappeared for the morning.

It was a productive day, mostly spent in the kitchen. After a morning walk to the river, I made a pot of soup and a batch of shortbread cookies…yum!

Tonight sunset was a no show courtesy of cloud cover, yet this pink glow appeared in the eastern sky, seemingly a sunset…but in the east!
