Time out (aka Me Time)

Friday, 27 November 2020

Sometimes in life you just have to take a time out and spend time doing what makes you happy.

Today I took a time out. I don’t like taking sick days, especially when I’m not sick. I’m not physically sick. But mentally and emotionally, well that’s another story.

I just knew, with every fibre of my being, there was no way I could be tethered to a laptop all day today. I knew yesterday but slept on it to be sure. Then this morning, I listened to myself. I listened to what my heart and soul were telling me.

Take a time out!

So I did. And the result? I had the time of my life. My energy and mood were high. I felt happiness and joy. I felt carefree. I never left the house… But I had a great day.

I kept busy doing things I wanted to do…odds and ends I’ve been putting off until I had time. And, I got some Christmas decorations up.

I highly recommend taking a “me” day, a “gone fishing” day, a “time out” day or whatever you want to call it. A day devoted to doing whatever you want to do. It’s energizing and helps keep our light shining bright… something the world needs more of right now.

Another foggy day. Hoping for sunshine tomorrow!
