Sapper Bill Quinn with his sister Gertie

William (Bill) Quinn
My great-uncle Bill was a sapper with the RCE during WWII. Bill survived the war but was haunted by his experience every waking moment. Eventually it was too much for him and he ended his life in 1966.

A/Sgt George Robinson in Helena, Montana

George Robinson
My first cousin once removed, George, was an A/Sgt with the First Special Service Force (also known as the Devil’s Brigade). He was killed in action in Anzio, Italy on 18 Feb 1944, and buried in the Beach Head War Cemetery in Anzio. I was able to visit his grave during my trip to Italy in the Fall of 2018. It was the most joyful, peaceful and loving experience I have ever had visiting a cemetery.
