Hearing a truck door close, I put my laptop aside, rose from the chair and walked to the door, arriving the same time as the UPS driver. A quick, friendly exchange and I soon had a small parcel in my hand. My eyes scanned the label for the return address. Peace by Chocolate. Yes, it had arrived!
Parcel in hand, I walked to the kitchen sink, reaching for a knife to cut into the parcel. Just as I was slicing through the tape, I looked up and out the window above the sink. My breath held for a second, afraid if I let it out, it would fly away.
Ohhhhh! Gently, quietly, I backed away from the window to get my camera, calling for Mom at the same time.
We watched in awe at this magnificent bird perched on the tree. So majestic. I completely forgot about the chocolate!
Peace by Chocolate from Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I have been wanting to try their chocolate and with their new book being released last week, I purchased it and a chocolate sampler. I’ll let you know how it is!
