The morning started off with clear blue skies and sunshine. A nice change from the cold and rain yesterday. I started my morning off with a photo of my favourite sunflower:
It’s interesting, no fascinating really, to see the daily changes the sunflower makes. I will post comparison photos so you can see the changes.
My nephews and sister-in-law dropped by for a visit this afternoon. After lunch, the boys went to work in the shop to declutter and sort things. I popped in a couple of times to see how they were fairing and was amazed at how quickly they work. A fantastic duo. They said it was easier on them because there was no emotional attachment to the stuff and I believe they hit it bang on. Mom and I have a harder time letting things go because it was my Dad’s stuff and, even though we don’t need a hundred springs, or other things he had, it was hard to let go.
I purposely stayed away from the garage while they were working so I wouldn’t see what was being tossed. Out of sight, out of mind. Instead, I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies for them!
Inside the house, my sister-in-law helped Mom move furniture around the living room which was a great help. Things are coming together and there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Hoping to move my office out of my bedroom and get it set up in the living room sometime this week.
Today’s photo of the day
Some days I take a lot of photos and have an abundance to choose from for photo of the day. Other days I have none and have no idea what I’m going to do. And then, something happens, a gift from above, and I get a sweet shot. That’s what happened today.
I looked out the window and saw a monarch butterfly on the sunflower. What a sweet sight! I got excited, ran for my camera and tip toed outside to get a shot (or two…let’s be real, it was more like half a dozen!) The butterfly stayed for a long time and didn’t mind me there taking pictures. I left it alone for a while, but then went back for a few more (again, more like a few dozen more!)
