I was glad my work desk is beside my bed because I needed a couple of cat naps during the day. Going back to work after a week off wasn’t all that difficult. Full on allergy mode made it miserable though. But the good news is we’re at the end of August and allergy season, for me at least, has just begun. Last year, I was feeling this way in July which made for a very long season.
As I’m typing this, I’m watching the sunset and this crazy ass cloud that keeps on growing, much like Jack’s bean stock!
It started off…well, here are three photos showing the progression:

The clouds have merged forming a donut hole in the middle. Super cool and strange at the same time.
Earlier this evening as I was waiting for dinner to cook, I was washing up a few dishes and looking out the window when I saw the great blue heron fly across the yard and land in a tree. I kid you not. I even have a great shot of him in the tree (image below). Earlier this morning I was talking about him. I had gotten a decent photo of him earlier this spring and haven’t been able to find it. I was also wondering where he’s been because I usually see him throughout the summer on the river bank.

So it’s not surprising he showed up tonight. Sometimes I get the feeling nature likes to be photo of the day!
