Confirmation that the crows were a sign from above – even though I shouldn’t need it, it sure is nice to receive it nonetheless – my brother, who was 2 hours away from my home, also saw seven crows yesterday… Gotta love spirit! 🙂
I had a quite day, spent most of it indoors. The humidity eventually lifted and I stepped outside for a bit, just before sunset. At that moment I realized how much I missed being in nature. I spent more time indoors this weekend than I have in a while and I notice how it affects my mood.
Smores. I bought all I would need to make smores and have been planning on having a bonfire so I could create the sweet delicacy. Unfortunately, there is a fire ban in our region so no smores by fireside. That got me thinking. What if I try it on the BBQ? It took some time, so I moved it to the side burner and toasted it in the flame. It caught fire a few times…but I do love a crispy outer edge on my marshmallow!

It was quite good! After supper, I decided to try again, but we ran out of propane for the BBQ, so I popped a marshmallow in the microwave, set it to 11 seconds and waited to see what would happen.

It came out a melted blob, soft and gooey and oh, so delicious! This was by far the quickest way, especially if no flame is available, but I prefer the authentic wood smoke, burned to a crisp edges. Keeping some supplies on hand for that bonfire I hope to get in before summer’s end.
Today’s photo of the day is the lovely Fuchsia flower. I am in love with this plan and can’t get over how gorgeous the blooms are. I expect to put on a smaller lens so I can get up nice and close, in the coming days.

And a few more photos from around the yard today, all taken from the veranda: A crow sitting on the old dead tree next to my grandparent’s place. This is the spot they were yesterday but I wasn’t able to capture them. Next is a silhouette of a hummingbird at the feeder, followed by the gorgeous Fuchsia flower in bloom.

I almost forgot to mention I saw a red fox this afternoon. As I was preparing dinner, I was on the veranda, bringing things to the BBQ, when I saw a fox walk across the yard, down near the river. He heard my voice, stopped, turned to look at me but for a moment, then hurried on his way. So cool!!!
Have a great night and see you tomorrow!
