Walmart pickup day. Nothing quite like an hour out of the house, driving to town to pickup groceries, avoiding contact with fellow humans so as not to catch a deadly bug.
Books have been created about this, movies too. And now it’s happening. Mind boggling.
Was nice to get out of the house…out of the neighbourhood actually…even if just for a little while. We booked this Walmart pickup date two weeks ago. I finally got some baby spinach and shampoo, and a box of facial tissues. They’ve been out of stock for several weeks.
Some crazy weather today. Sunshine, followed by snow squalls, followed by more sunshine, more snow squalls… At one point, it was snowing and the sun was shining. I was looking for a rainbow 😉

All in all, we’re doing really well, considering. I started working on my Italy trip blog, turning it into a magazine. I’m using Affinity Publisher for the layout so I can learn the program. I’ve been an InDesign user since it’s inception but can’t justify spending so much money for it. I really don’t care for the subscription model Adobe has gone to. The last couple of years, I’ve been researching alternatives and have had my eye on Affinity. I’ve purchased Publisher, Photo and Designer to replace InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I really like the software. There is a bit of a learning curve involved and I’ve been able to get through road blocks by watching Affinity “how to” videos on their website, plus reading forums. Really, everything you need to know today can be found online.
I have a virtual team meeting tomorrow, with my new team. I unofficially/officially switched teams on the 1st of April. As the change isn’t considered essential, HR hasn’t done the paperwork, so until we’re back to normal it’s unofficial. This is the team I started with so I’m very happy to be back and look forward to collaborating and designing with them.
So that’s a little normalcy in this not normal time.
I launched my family tree book tonight on Facebook. I’m excited to share it with the family.
Ok, that’s it for tonight. Hope you’re doing well.
