Happy birthday to my beautiful niece Shaeleen!!!
80 days into the year and it’s anything but boring, wouldn’t you say? 😉
My youngest niece turned 15 today and we didn’t want to miss it but with social distancing…we stood on the walkway while she stood on her porch and we sang happy birthday. It’s one for the books I tell ya!
I just finished watching an Irish movie so I’ve got my Irish on and may sound a wee bit Irish for a paragraph or two. Have I mentioned my ancestry DNA came back as 100% Irish? 🍀🇮🇪
I haven’t been drinking…it’s listening to the accents and seeing the Irish landscape for two hours. Makes me want to go back for a visit.
Anyhoo, back to Canada 🇨🇦. After our visit I popped into a grocery store to pick a few things up and was quite surprised and the lack of space people were leaving each other. No space at all! Thankfully there weren’t many people in the store.
I needed to pop into Shoppers drug Mart as well and was quite impressed with the tape on the floor indicating the appropriate spacing between people standing in line for the cash.
Even though I wore gloves and kept my distance, I feel it was a bad decision on my part to have gone into the stores. Things are progressing too fast and you just don’t know who might be infected. So that’s it for me. I’m staying in and, if or when we need something, we’ll try online shopping or figure something else out.
On the way home, we stopped for a walk on the Ottawa River trail. Being in the woods, surrounded by nature, by trees, was so incredibly energizing. I could feel my battery, and my soul, filling up. At times it was so quiet, all I could hear were the geese on the river. Sigh…my happy place!
