Day one of mandatory teleworking for non-essential employees in my department, of which I am. Good news is I normally telework so it’s not much of a change.
I must admit, until yesterday, I didn’t really give this virus much thought. I watched the news reports, saw it grow in China and Europe, but that’s a far piece from me. We only had a few cases and they were on the other coast…
I saw a video, somewhere on some social media platform, where a man suggests we act as if we have the virus and take precautions so as not to infect others, instead of trying to protect ourselves from getting it. That piece of advice made everything so clear for me. Not that I go out much these days, especially in the winter, but I’m making a point to stay home to protect the vulnerable in my community.
Feeling very grateful that I work for a department that encourages teleworking and that the nature of my job is perfect for it too!
Now I didn’t get outside today, except to feed the turkeys and fill up the bird feeders… It was darn cold! And it was quiet around the feeders today too. But I’m going to make it a priority everyday so I don’t go stir crazy!
