I’m late writing this. It’s 11 pm and I just realized I’m running out of time to post before the day is done.
I’m knee deep in my family tree book. Actually I’m fully immersed! I haven’t worked on it since before my vacation in November. I was in the final edit mode, then vacation came, followed by Christmas, then cancelling my InDesign (ID) subscription. I thought Affinity Publisher (AP) would be able to open my ID file but that wasn’t the case.
Until just recently! The newest update to AP reads IDML files. This is great news! Except I didn’t get around to saving my file as an IDML. On a whim, I launched ID and was pleasantly surprised and extremely grateful that it opened, with a warning this would be the last time it would open.
I saved the file as an IDML then opened it in AP. It worked but requires a lot of clean up plus the footers – my sources – didn’t make it over. AP doesn’t have an automatic footnote option. So I’ve decided to finish the book now, while I have one last time with ID. It’s going to be a long night! Then again, I could purchase ID for a month…
Sooooo, here’s tonight’s photo of tonight’s sunset. Don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour tomorrow night before bed!
