Well now, that was a long day. Up before 5 am to catch a train to Quebec City. A five plus hour train ride, four hours walking around vieux Québec taking photos, a couple of hours viewing and editing, followed by painting…phew no wonder I’m spent. Happily spent!
I was in my happy zone all afternoon, walking around taking pictures. Once the sun went down, I set up the tripod to take some long exposures.
People are so nice and friendly, and interested in what I was doing! I met a lot of nice people and practiced my French at the same time. The locals really seem pleased when you speak French with them, even if it’s terrible! I appreciated them continuing in French and not switching to English, like they do at home. They did add in a few English words if I was struggling to understand and their English was excellent!
I’m staying at the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac right in old Town. What a place! I got lost trying to find my room. Thankfully someone came out of a closet somewhere and I got directions.

Now, tonight’s painting is…well, let’s just say I was really tired and not going to do a painting but convinced myself to do it.
Room service left me with a sweet flower, so I thought I’d paint it. The lighting in the room isn’t very good for painting, great ambience for a hotel room, not so much for a painting studio! I am going to add “glasses and vases” to my list of things to practice painting!

Alrighty then, that’s all I have left in me. I’m off to zZzz land. Back home tomorrow with lots of photos, fresh air, exercise, culture and a change of scenery!
