Another amazing fall day filled with sunshine and warmth.
Today was the first time, in a long time, I was in the mood to paint. I had a longing to get my acrylics out and loose myself in a canvas. I didn’t pull th acrylics out, but I did pull the tubes of watercolour paint out, instead of using the pans, which I find work very similar to acrylic, as long as you don’t use water… or too much water.
This painting is similar to one I did in February. It’s from the I love landscapes book by Susan Scheewe Brown. It took me more than an hour to complete and I was focused on details and highlights and shadows. I’m very pleased with how it turned out!

Every morning I step into the veranda to greet the morning. This morning was no exception. A light frost kissed the ground, and the stairs leading to th backyard. I had to tread very carefully to get down to fill the platform feeder with bird seed. While there, I decided to venture over to the maple tree to take closeup photos of the leaves. I slipped and slid to the tree… probably should have been wearing proper footwear and not my Crocs!
I love trees. I find myself often just staring at them, memorizing every detail. I enjoy their healing energy and admire how they know when the season is over and what to do. They ate incredible!
