Can you believe there’s only 💯 days left in this year? I certainly can’t yet I have 265 paintings to prove it!
Today is the last day of summer and what a day. It’s warm, muggy even and the sun made a brief appearance this afternoon, while I was wondering through my flower garden. All of the sunflowers have opened and look amazing. A lilac colored wildflower is blooming throughout the gardens and around the yard. The bees are loving it! They’re also enjoying the blooming mint. Just imagine what the honey from them would taste like. There’s a bee keeper up the road who sells his honey. Can’t wait to try this batch!
As I was heading back to the house, my eye was caught by the wheelbarrel I had turned on its side this spring…to keep it from filling with water. I meant to put it away but just never got around to it. Well…. wildflowers have grown around it and it looks just lovely! So I snapped a few pictures.

Notice th chipmunk? I didn’t see him when I took the photo. It wasn’t until I was in the house and decided to paint the scene, I zoomed in on the photo for more details to sketch for the painting that I saw him! Lucky shot!
