A sunny warm start to the day. It was so hot sitting in the sun on the veranda this morning during breakfast, I had to keep sliding my chair backwards, out of the sun! A bonus for mid-September.
You know that saying, when you make plans, God laughs, well…I was heading out to Ottawa to spend a couple of hours in Major’s Hill park to paint and take pictures – a call was put out to local artists and photographers to come to the park to capture the back view of the Chateau Laurier, in solidarity with the Friends of the Chateau Laurier and Heritage Ottawa who are working tirelessly to intervene in the new addition that is planned. Anyway, I’m pulling out of the laneway and my car dies. It won’t drive, it won’t reverse and there’s a loud noise coming from it. Thankfully my lane is on an incline so in neutral the car automatically rolls back into the lane. I’m not stranded anywhere. I’m safe. All is good.
You know when you’re not feeling well so you google your symptoms… You probably shouldn’t do that with your car either.
It’s most likely transmission related. I have been extremely lucky with this car. All my cars, actually. So, now is the time to get back to that peaceful place I used to be several years ago, when I trusted my angels, guides and God and gave everything over to them. No worries. It’s all good. There’s a reason for everything. Everything turns out the way it’s supposed to. There’s something better.
I trust it will all turn out. I trust I will have the financial means to cover repairs if they’re needed.
So, with extra time on my hands, it was a good time to get back to releasing that which no longer serves me…back to decluttering my space. Perhaps that’s where I was supposed to be all along?
I popped into my garden for inspiration for the daily photo, planning on taking a close up of the tall red sunflower

.
When I noticed a spider in its web. The coolest looking spider in a really cool web. I haven’t seen anything quite like it before. It’s like a zigzag stitch made with a sewing machine!

.
Excited about the photos I took, I felt inspired to paint. I had something in mind, started painting but it wasn’t working out as I had planned…in hindsight, I see a pattern emerging. For half a second, I was going to throw out the painting and start over. But I didn’t. I had an idea and went with it, followed by another and another and…well, I’m pleased with the results.

.
I had also planned on going into the office tomorrow, but now I need to make arrangements to have my car towed to my mechanic…
When you make plans…God laughs.
Obviously there is something better for me around the corner. So I’m letting go and trusting.
