It was a do-over morning.
I walked out the door, after kissing my two cats goodbye, sat in the car and asked Mom to wait a moment while I checked my purse. I was having the distinct feeling that something was out of order or I was missing something. Concerned it was my ID pass, I checked my bag… ID is there. Phew. So are my glasses and my phone. And my wallet. Yes! Let’s roll.
We pulled out of the lane at 7:10 am, to a oncoming car speeding at us in our lane. Holy Sh!t! Not what I was expecting early in the morning. Nerves rattled but OK, we continued on. I mentioned how I would prefer a drive in like yesterday, seeing deer in the field and what not.
Mom pulls up to my office building at 7:27 am. We made excellent time! I gather my belongings and it hits me. I didn’t put anything in the back seat…like I normally do. Which means…
“I don’t have my laptop with me!”
Oh no! Now what? I can’t go into work without my laptop. My entire work day is computer based. I have to go back home.
So, off we go, back home. It took us 16 minutes to get home. Laptop bag in hand, we’re off again. This time, I see a momma deer with her two babies in the field. Now, that’s more like it! I also see a rainbow as we pass the casino’s water spout (which wasn’t there the first time).
We pull up to my office building at 8:10 am.
16 minutes to work…I love summer. Come September, it will take us an hour plus to drive the same route.

Supper with family tonight…we made chicken parmesan. Boy, was it ever good!
