Sunday, 4 August 2019Oh what a day, what a wonderful day!”If only I could bottle the joy I’m feeling right now so I could have it when I need it!” – me, earlier today.I popped out to the butterfly-bee garden this morning to check on the monarch caterpillar. He was still there and I saw two more!Such a beautiful morning, I had my breakfast in the garden, watching the bees and black wasps and other insects enjoying the flowers.

For the record, I didn’t notice the caterpillar in the photo above until I had download it. What a nice surprise!I felt so much gratitude for such a lovely garden and grateful for my home, thanking God for my blessings. I took my shoes off, dug my toes and feet into the ground and thought “this is better than any cottage” then looked up to see a Monarch butterfly feeding on an echinacea plant directly across from me.

Oh, the joy I felt!Such a wonderful gift. Especially after all the hard work I put into the garden. What a reward. The monarch stayed the entire time I was in the garden and I was able to get close enough to take several photos.

Grateful!

Oh my! I almost posted without adding my painting of the day! The Eardley escarpment as seen from Quinn’s mile, at sunset.
