Farewell August, you’ve been a blast. Only wish you could take ragweed with you!!!

I decided to stop the allergy meds… surprise! Not really. Although this is the longest I’ve gone. But after three days of headaches and being zombie-like, I had enough.

I woke up early this morning, almost bounded out of bed and felt alive! As the day progressed, i had a couple sneezing fits, runny nose and itchy throat, but I’m not a zombie so I’m good with that!

I had a tea on the veranda this morning, enjoying the birds and clouds and the sky divers.

These clouds caught my eye but I didn’t see the heart until I downloaded the photo to my phone.

It seems like, even with a menacing dark cloud lurking over the white cloud, the universe reminds us that all we need is LOVE!

Tonight’s painting is on the same theme as last night…small, simple, with a tree.

Now, I read tonight will be a good night to see the northern lights. Something I’d like to photograph. We’ll see if I can stay awake until midnight or sleep and wake up then…

30 days hath September, April June and November. Which means there’s one more day in August.

Had a lovely visit with a dear friend today. I enjoyed catching up and learning of what’s next on her journey. Made some fresh herbal mint and chamomile tea straight from my garden. Yum!

I spent a little time in my flower garden this afternoon, welcoming the sunflowers who have recently woken up and took a few pics. On my way back in, the sunflower next to the stairs caught my eye. I grabbed my camera off my shoulder, set up for the shot then a bumblebee appeared out of nowhere and photobombed me!

For today’s painting, I wanted something simple. I thought of a painting I did in the winter of a tree and reeds with snow and ice. I wanted to do something similar.

The Thursday before a long weekend. I have lots I want to accomplish this weekend so hoping for three days of amazing weather.

Today’s painting is a bust. I was working with a new travel brush I purchased at Michaels. It’s the type where you add water to the pen, then squeeze the water out. I have been using a similar one that came with the travel paint set I purchased from DeSerres. I LOVE it. Such a cool idea and it works great. So…I thought I would buy another one, with a smaller tip for more detail work. Not sure if there’s a learning curve or if the brush is just not great. It holds a lot of water…or perhaps water is continually dripping. Not sure what the problem is, nor the solution, but a lot of water pools on the paper from this brush and it causes a real mess. I wasn’t in the mood to scrap my efforts and start over so…I’m going with it. Once it dried, I went back in with a liner brush (not a travel version) to add some details back to the little island and palm trees. But…

I must admit that getting up early to go into the office has its benefits. Getting up before the sun allows me to watch, enjoy and capture the sunrise. This morning, it was incredible. I took the photo with my phone (Google Pixel 3a xl) and was quite pleased with it.

Then, a little while later, Google assistant alerted me it created an enhanced (or was it stylized?) version. Now, I like what they did. Normally I find their stylized photos look too saturated.  This one is not bad but I think I like the original better. What do you think? Which do you prefer?

Only 125 days to go in my 365 Creativity Project. Wow, time sure has flown by.

I saw a picture on Instagram (posted by InstaIreland) a few weeks back and knew instantly I wanted to paint it, and so I did!
