A lovely rainy day. I couldn’t decide if I was cold and needed turn on the furnace or was just right with the door open. One moment it was humid, next, damp. At one point I changed my shorts for long pants and fuzzy socks and a sweater, and kept the door open. Loved hearing the rain falling and the geese and birds in the backyard!
The sun came out around 4:30 pm, and with it a rainbow. By the time I grabbed my phone, it had faded quite a bit.
It was a busy day in the backyard. I spent part of my lunch hour sitting on the deck, during the rain, watching the activity.
A lone male turkey was visiting and seemed kind of off…whether it was the rain he didn’t like, or perhaps we wasn’t sure about the geese…he hid behind a tree, peeking out every now and then.
The turkey wasn’t the only one checking someone out…
Did you notice the water drops on the goose’s back…it really does roll off! 🙂
Ok, enough of my backyard friends. For today’s painting, I went to my phone for inspiration. When I see a photo or painting I like, I take a screen capture and store it in a folder “to paint” on my phone. I flipped through a few when I landed on a scene of Ireland I saw on Instagram a week or so ago. I don’t recall who posted it so am unable to give credit to the photographer…if you know who it is, please let me know so I can credit them. It’s a beautiful photo.
I had the mountains exactly how I wanted them, then added the land in the foreground. When I was done, the mountains seemed too small, so I added to them…making them too dark. Now they’re not what I wanted…sigh…
I’m still not sure which picture I’m going to choose for photo of the day…most likely a gosling because they’re just so darn cute! Let me have another look and post one…
I just had to add this one. This little guy was either stretching his head or trying to get rid of the rain water on his head, until he realized what was going on behind him. He got up, scurried over and joined his family under his mom’s wings.
