I think this is the cloud system that produced the tornado in Orleans. If you zoom in on the bottom right you can see a funnel forming.
We were at DQ in Gatineau when hail and heavy rain started. During our drive home I was fascinated by this very large cloud system. I have never seen anything quite like it. It was close to the ground and seemed to be moving and growing at the same time.
We stopped at the Labrosse Park and ride to watch it and take photos. Very strange. Then on our way home I took this shot that is looking east. Gatineau airport is on the left. Orleans is on the right.
We had just pulled into the driveway when our phones rang out with the emergency notification that a tornado was spotted. So unnerving!
Glad no one was hurt!

Tonight’s painting is another monotone. I like the mood of monotone paintings!
I learned today that the Ottawa Heart Institute is looking for artists to paint peaceful scenes on ceiling tiles. Tomorrow is the application deadline. They want a brief bio and up to three samples.
I wrote a brief bio and will look for three samples tomorrow. So cool!
