Another cloudy cool start to the day (crazy windy too) which ended in an abundance of sunshine and a fabulous sunset!
Nature…it fills my soul, recharges and completes me…all it takes is a few minutes a day!
I wasn’t feeling well today and was pretty low key all day. Early evening I decided to give painting a go. Sitting in front of a blank paper…flowers? Nah. Landscape? Maybe. Greens and yellows. I wanted greens and yellows.

I had a bite to eat for supper but felt unwell after eating so decided to go outside to feed the birds…take my mind off of my stomach 😉
We had a Baltimore oriole hanging around this weekend looking for food. He tried the hummingbird feeders but wasn’t able to get nectar. I made him a solution (8:1…hummingbird solution is 4:1) and placed it in a glass container on top of a terra cotta container, figuring the orange container would get his attention. We had a lot of rain after I put it out and figured it must be diluted. I headed down to the bird garden to fill up the bird feeders and nectar, spending time admiring the leaves and buds on the trees, the flowers in bloom, the grass getting so tall…taking pictures and enjoying the moment.

Not surprising, I felt better!
Back on the veranda, with camera in hand, I sat and enjoyed the singsong, the chirping and calling. Much to my delight, the orioles came back and drank from the dish! A male and female. As I was admiring them, something caught my eye…a familiar brown bird with a red spot and he’s about the size of a robin…a North Flicker! We had one visit two years ago.
