It’s been raining all day. The rivers are overflowing in some parts of the region. The river in my backyard is quite full. It was interesting watching things float by today…mostly trees and brush. I think these are trees the beavers cut down then left near the shore and with the rising water levels the river has claimed them. One such log floated past and had me getting up for a closer look. It looked like a canoe with figures in it. I say “figures” as it looked more like something from Lord of the Rings…elvish.
Today’s photo:
This little chipmunk seems to be a little defensive: “What??? It’s been a long winter!”
Had a lot of activity at the bird feeder today. It was fun watching the birds, squirrels and mr chipmunk – first day back from winter break!
Painting of the day:

I had an enjoyable painting class last night. It was my first night painting – last week was drawing the image onto the canvas. Oil paints are much different than I’m used to. It’s going to take some time to get used to them.

I forgot to take a picture of the canvas with just the drawing but you get the idea.
So step two is painting in monochrome tones. Once that’s done we paint with colour.
