It’s funny..,the days I go into the office seem to leave me with little time to do anything fun. Must be the hours spent sitting in traffic, going nowhere.
Today was such a day. Sunny, warm (11 Celsius) but windy.
I spent the entire day inside, oblivious to the outer world. In lieu of a lunchtime walk, I opted to stay in and work on my homework for my oil painting class.
When I got home, the first thing I did was grab my camera and step outside to take some pictures. Mother Nature cooperated with a near full moon, geese flying by, birds chirping and fluttering around, cumulating in a “red sky at night” sunset complete with geese flying in formation through the scene. So many pictures to choose from for photo of the day, but this one won out because I liked the composition.

The last couple of paintings I struggled with what to paint. Tonight was more of the same…at first. I wanted to paint a scene with cattails. So I thought about where you would see cattails. Around here they’re in the ditches and low spots where water tends to accumulate. Then I saw evergreen trees. Lots of them surrounding a pond…
