First day of February brought us lots of sun and cold temperatures. Everything is better with the sun!
I was teleworking today and took advantage of being home by spending my breaks and lunch outside, shoveling, walking around, taking pictures! Not long after I finished work for the day, I was doing something in my bedroom and noticed the snow bank outside my bedroom window had taken on a warm reddish hue from the setting sun. I quickly donned my winter gear, grabbed my camera and hurried outside to catch this beautiful colour shining on the snow. The snow bank looked like a filter had been applied to them. With the sun on my back, I could position my shadow in some of the shots…a selfie or self portrait? As neat as the photo was, it didn’t make photo of the day, but the snow bank did!

No filter applied, only nature’s sunlight filter!

During supper, I watched an old recording I have saved on the PVR of a watercolour artist on PBS. I was inspired by her painting and thought to try it. Well…my version took on a life of it’s own and went down a different path. I’m happy with the way it turned out and looks like a path into the forest I would like to take.

A walk in the woods
