I just may be finding my niche. In painting and photography. Although I’m trying new techniques and venturing out of my comfort zone, it’s nice to come back into it and do something I enjoy and am good at. I needed that today. Validation. Validation from me. No one else. Just me.
I enjoy blending colours on a canvas – or in this case, watercolour paper. I blend with sponges or brushes, depending on my mood. Today, it was a sponge. As I sat down to paint, I knew I wanted to work with blues and beiges.
This is the result:

My morning started with a gasp of delight as I looked out my bedroom window and saw the full(ish) moon setting over the field of fresh white snow, tinted red from the rising sun. I skipped out of my room to grab my camera, opened my bedroom window and took pictures!
This was followed by a flutter of bird activity on the veranda. They eating blissfully, me watching blissfully – with camera in hand. At one point, I opened the patio door, ever so slowly, ever so quietly, so I could take bird pictures without a pane of glass in the way. They all stayed put. Even the mourning dove, for a few seconds, which was all I needed to take her picture. And then she was off!

It was a good day. Lots of sunshine, lots of creativity. A good day. 🙂
