I struggled with the painting today. Had no idea where it was leading. Even stopped and stared at it for a bit, trying to figure out my next step. And the next step came. And, once again, I’m surprised with the result.

I’ve been off work this week, feeling unwell, and housebound. Thankfully I live in the country and have lots of nature on my door step. I slept a good portion of the day, but unfortunately missed the bird activity around the bird feeders – which is usually a great place to get some good shots. Unsure what I would photograph today, I decided to get some exercise and fresh air, a snowshoe walk around the property, camera in hand, scoping out possible subjects. Most of the pictures I took were of trees, bark, limbs, pine needles, branches. It was the golden hour, light was fading fast. Most of the photos would need to be lightened in Lightroom or Photoshop and, as this project is about using raw natural untouched photos, the one I chose for today’s picture of the day was one of the first I took. I am going to need some practice with taking photos in dark conditions, without the need for touching up later. Practice! 😉
