Imagine it’s New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2012. You’re gearing up for the new year celebrations, pondering what 2013 will bring when suddenly a piece of paper floats down from the Heavens and lands on your lap. It’s a folded in half, tied with gold ribbon. Carefully you untie the ribbon, unfold the paper, smoothing it out with your hands. You recognizing the handwriting as your own. The note is dated December 31, 2013. It is a note from your future self to your present day self.
It reads:
Dear Beautiful You! Ya you! Just wanted to give you a heads up that this year will be your best ever. There’s nothing to worry about – so don’t worry. Everything works out GREAT! So, take time to enjoy the little things. Laugh as much as possible. And do something you’ve always dreamed about doing. You have more than enough time, you have more than enough money and you have oh, so much love surrounding you. ENJOY 2013!!!
Your future self.
P.S. Skip the new gym membership you’re thinking about buying and go hiking instead – it’s free AND you’ll meet someone special! hint hint, nudge nudge.
I realize you can’t go back in time and give yourself a note like this – wouldn’t it be cool though if you could? – BUT you can give yourself this advice today.
You can’t change your past but you can learn from it, make positive changes in your present, thereby creating the future of your dreams.
