Competition

A couple of years ago I decided to put myself out there and what better way than joining the psychic fair circuit. I was dedicated to deepening my connection with spirit; developing and fine-tuning my skills as a medium; and connecting with like-minded people.

I was excited, nervous and had no idea what to expect so I just dived in and hoped for the best.

When I reflect on my experiences that year only one thing stands out and that’s “competition”. I was surprised at how competitive this field is. I presume – because we’re all light workers who’s main objective on earth is to shine light and love everywhere we go – that events would be filled with peace, love and a sense of community and cooperation. However, that was not the case. With each fair I attended my energy – and positive expectations of the psychic community – dropped lower and lower.

I don’t get the whole competition thing. For one thing, we’re all different – our gifts and talents are very different – so comparing ourselves to other is a recipe for disaster. I truly believe we’re all needed in our own way and for our own talents and there is enough for all of us. Enough clients, enough studio space, enough money, enough of whatever we need.

We are all here to support each other on this amazing journey called life.

Do me a favour? The next time you’re feeling competitive remember that we’re all in this together. We’re all here to support each other on this amazing journey called life. There is a reason there are so many spiritual teachers today: there is someone for everyone. While Jesus may not be for you, but Budda is that doesn’t mean Jesus isn’t good at what he does. Perhaps you’re drawn to Doreen Virtue but not Sylvia Browne, that doesn’t mean Sylvia isn’t good at what she does. Do you see what I’m getting at? If there was only one spiritual teacher for all of us, then there would be a gaping hole in how we learn.

Trust where you are

Trust where you are – right now at this very moment –  is exactly where you’re meant to be. You are needed; your gifts are needed; your talents are needed. So, be the light you are and shine it bright for all to see!

In light and love,

Wanda

A side note: Not everyone who had booths at the fairs was in it for the money or had a competitive spirit. I want to ensure you that I met some amazing light workers at the psychic fairs who were there to shine and share their light with others. It was a positive experience in that I met and connected with some truly amazing people.
